Wonder-kid Ozzy Bosco and Mum Tells Their Success Story

Seven-year-old Oziomachukwu Favour Mojekwu (popularly known as Ozzy Bosco Wonderkid), has achieved an unbeatable record in the Africa’s entertainment industry. He is currently making his way into the Guinness Book of World Records for his incredible strides in Africa music industry. He and his mother, Chief Elizabeth Nonye Mojekwu, bare it all to NEWTON-RAY UKWUOMA in this interview.
As a mother, how would you describe Ozzy Bosco?
He is a multi-talented, vibrant, intelligent and kind child. Ozzy Bosco is versatile. We call him a teacher’s teacher. Just mention a subject once to him and he would tell you more about it than you think he knows.
Do you think that showbiz is right for him?
People ask me this question and I tell them that it is just like me saying why did you allow your child to play football? It has its own risks. Why do you allow your child to be a pilot? Every business in this world has its own risk. So, when a child is young, you catch him or her young. I mean teach them the way of the Lord.
We are also packaging this boy to be religious and to be very kind. When you do what you are supposed to do as a parent, you leave the rest for God. It is the Almighty God that puts him where he is in the first place; that put so much talent in one single child. I have no doubt He will see him through in his career. More....

Prince Eke, Angela Okorie and Prosper

My last post yesterday was of Nollywood actress Angela Okorie as she gives her side of the story of how she was blackmailed and prisoned in South Africa because she refused to give in to sexual advances by Prosper, and how she planned on getting even with Muma Gee's husband Prince Eke for being part of the reason she was arrested Read it here.

Prosper and Prince actually reached out to blogger Linda Ikeji to recount their story. its confusing now, because we don't know who is telling the truth and who's not. Let's wait and see what comes up next.

Read Prince Eke side of the story....

"Mid last month, Angela Okorie called me help her shoot a movie in South Africa. My wife (Muma Gee) was due to give birth but because of the respect I have for her, I agreed to do the movie. It was her own movie called Ada Abakaliki but she also wanted me to act in another movie being produced by a guy named Ikenna in South Africa which she was also supposed to feature in. It was her movie and she was the one inviting me to South Africa so yes she's supposed to pay for my flight and accommodation because I had no other reason to be there. We arrived South Africa on Monday. She wanted me to stay with her friend but I told her I would rather stay in a hotel that I wasn't comfortable staying in someone's house. She put me in one hotel but I didn't like the place. She paid for a guest house and she asked me to stay with her there but I refused, telling her that she's a married woman and I am a married man, that I wasn't comfortable staying with her.

Amazing: Singing Gospel Music Saves 10 Years old Boy From Kidnappers

Willie Myrick, a 10 years old boy was kidnapped by unknown hoodlums in Atlanta Georgia lastweek.
Willie told WSB-TV on Thursday April 24th, that he kept singing Every Praise by Hezekiah Walker even as he was cursed and threatened to be killed by the kidnappers if he doesn't stop singing.
He continued singing for upto three hours until they threw him out of the moving car.
That was how he miraculously escaped from the kidnappers.

Here is the full story: (c)Eurthisnthat
"Myrick was abducted from his Atlanta, Georgia driveway while he played with his pet Chihuahua. A stranger pulled up, lured him to his car with an offer of money, then grabbed the boy when he got close enough and sped off, according to police.
Myrick told WSB-TV, "He was cursing at me telling me to shut up and didn't want to hear a word from me. He said if I told anyone, he would hurt me, like in a bad way.”
But it was the indirect assistance from Grammy-award winner,Hezekiah Walker, that helped his young fan escape his captor. For three straight hours young Willie sang, "Every Praise," the artist’s popular gospel song. Willie did not let the constant threats from the kidnapper daunt him in any way. He just kept on singing. Finally, having had enough, the kidnapper let him out of the car at East Point.
"He opened the door and threw me out," the 10-year-old said. "He told me not to tell anyone."
When word of young Myrick’s survival got out, his church celebrated the victory on his 10th birthday. Even Hezekiah Walker, who heard about the incident, showed up; flying in from New York to Atlanta to celebrate with the child in the church's crowded sanctuary.
"It's just emotional to me because you never know who you're going to touch," Walker told ABC News. "I just wanted to hug him and tell him I love him. I really believe God spoke through me to save that young man's life."
Hear the song that saved Willie's life, Hezekiah Walkers, "Every Praise" below:

"My type of music was not liked in lagos" - Flavour

Chinedu Okoli popularly known as Flavour, told his story about his journey to stardom, which was not an easy ordeal, but all the hardwork paid off as he is able to fulfill his passions.

He ran away from home to find greener pastures

"When I left Enugu for Lagos, many studio men and music bands turned me down on the grounds that they didn't understand my type of music. I found out that Lagosians have this type of music that they like.
They didn't like my type of music until later. It was that time we used to go to joints on Saturdays to sing for big men. I caught their attention first before I later switched to highlife. They liked it and even sprayed me money"

He was able to record his first track in 2003, but the quality wasn't nice to him, so he waited for four years to improve.

"I recorded my first track in 2003. I listened to it, didn't like it and discarded it and took my time. I felt I needed to be patient and not rush to fame. I didn't want people to reject my song. Then I worked for fours, after which I went back to music in a very big way in 2007."

He is finally accepted not just by Lagosians and Nigerians but also internationally. Patience and hardwork truly pays.

9 Month Old Boy Faces Attempted Murder Charges

Nine-month-old Musa Kahn was charged last week with attempted murder in Lahore after his family was involved in a protest against police and gas company workers.
picture of Baby Musa screaming at court as his finger prints is being taken by a court official.

A nine month old baby boy called Musa Khan was charged by the police force in Pakistan for allegedly assaulting security operatives in a Lahore slum in February 2014.
Does this baby look like a murderer? lol
Is this the adorable, squishy face of a murderer?
The baby Musa was taken to court and charged with attempted murder along with his father and grandfather.
The police said they prevented some workers of a gas company from disconnecting the household's gas supply after they failed to pay their bills by throwing stones at the workers.
According to most rational humans, and now — finally — a Pakistani court , it most certainly is not. When an assistant sub-inspector for the gas company complained that Musa's family had beat him up, everyone — including the baby who can barely stand on his own — were hauled in by police.
Musa was said to have cried and screamed during the court session until he was given a bottle of milk.
The lawyer defending the family argued that under the Pakistani Law, children under the age of seven cannot be prosecuted.
And the judge in charge of the case ordered the police to make an explanation for charges, while the Chief Minister of Panjab Province, Shahbaz Sharif, has directed an inquiry into the matter.
Fortunately, on Saturday the charges against the nine month old boy were dropped.
the defense attorney Mr Irfan Sadiq said "Police told the court that the nomination of Musa in the case of attacking police officers and the gas company officials was a human error"
Fortunately, on Saturday, the charges against the nine-month-old were dropped. "Police told the court that the nomination of Musa in the case of attacking police and gas company officials was a human error," said defense attorney Irfan Sadiq.
Musa's grandfather told reporters that, "He doesn't even know how to pick up his milk bottle properly. how can he stone the police?"

Happy New Month!

#verasopinion
We learn everyday. I learnt something new today while watching a TV program, though I've heard it before, but I never get to understand it better, what I Learnt today is.. 'failure is instructive'.
I've also heard when you fail, rise up, dust up yourself and try again.
But today I get to understand what it really implies, like my mentor ma'am Funmilayo Mide-Ajala told me, I should try to be patient, and don't give up at the slightest failure or discouragement. she got to know me in a few minutes chat we had. and it got me thinking, she's good at what she does, for she to be able to understand me in just a few minutes, and give pointers that I could relate to.

Failure truly is instructive, perseverance is key to growth. because when you fail, you not only dust yourself and move on, you also get to know where you went wrong, learn from it, straighten your ways before you try again.

All these requires patience, faith and ofcourse believing in yourself.

Family is also another requirement. I always bring in families because without them, we can't say we are whole, our families are our trademark. friends are important as well, they are our go-to when we need to chat, gossip and relate some stuffs we tend to keep from our families. But it's best to choose your friends wisely.

So in all, try to learn from your failure, don't waste time looking for who or what to blame.

Have a great week ahead!
And also have a fabulous month ahead!
😘

"Everybody is entitled to their opinion" - Emma Nyra

Artist Emma Chukwugoziam Obi  a.k.a Emma Nyra in a chat with Vanguard talks about how she feels for getting rude and inappropriate messages from people, can't say fans,, Hamm, but why the criticism naa...

Excerpts:

As someone in the public glare what is the craziest thing a fan has ever done to you?

Everyday I get Facebook messages that are out of this world. If I put them out people will be like Emma is wicked. I get a lot of inappropriate messages. Even this morning I got an inappropriate message on Instagram, I can’t even tell you what the person said.
I don’t mind reading inappropriate messages but the one that makes  me sad is when you read a blog and
somebody doesn’t respect the music that you do or have bad opinions about you which comes everyday as well. You take the good with the bad, everybody is entitled to their own opinion.

What defines your sense of style?

I like to be sexy and classy. I work really hard on my body and anytime I am doing anything fashionable  I like to show a little bit of skin. I worked hard for it and its my selling point.
I am not afraid to show my body, you know you do it in a classy way. There will be classy ways to be sexy, so you don’t have to show everything.

How do you handle stardom?

The only part that is affecting me is dating. Dating is very difficult. Everything else I like it. The worst part is dating.
Sometimes, guys come up to me, Oh yeah Emma Nyra’ and that’s how it starts.
It is not as genuine as it used to be. Since I am a woman, it affects me in a way. Sometimes, you see people  coming to you, not because of who you are. It puts me off sometimes if you come to me  because you’ve seen me on a blog.
I miss the days when  a guy will walk up to you and just tell you I love the way you carry yourself, not necessarily because of a particular image they see.

So are you in a relationship?

No, I am not in a relationship. Music is my everything. It’s not that I am not interested, but  right now, I am not dating any one.

Interview: Testimony of Mrs Mary Abbah Who Had A Child At Age 50

Mrs. Mary Abah is a lawyer, banker and wife of a former Minister of Interior, Mr. Humphrey Abah. She shares her experience with FRIDAY OLOKOR on her challenge of being in marriage for 23 years without a child and the support she got from her husband...
This is a wonderful story that is worth sharing....

Congratulations on the arrival of your baby 23 years after marriage. Did you ever think it was going to be like this?

Before I got married, my view of the marriage institution was that marriage was a sanctuary; a place where a woman could actualise her dream together with her partner. I understood very early that marriage usually gives some form of security and the expectation was that in it, one should blossom, be fruitful and multiply generally as the Bible says. That was basically how I saw marriage in my youthful age because I finally married at the age of 27 and I was still quite young.

In essence, you did not anticipate the challenge of having a baby…

No, I didn’t anticipate it, the truth is that as a young child who was brought up by a very strict mother, I saw life as a bit of calculation: a sort of ‘1+1 =2 and 2+2=4.’ So if you get married, you expect that after nine months, as they say, you will have a child or children. My challenge has made me very sensitive to what parents and well wishers normally do at wedding ceremonies. During a wedding, people start talking about gathering again for a naming ceremony after nine months. They say it as a joke but that is the genesis of pressure on married women. So, if yours doesn’t happen after nine months, there is a question mark there and you begin to fret and other problems come in.

"I gave my life to Christ in a drunken state at age 22" - Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo

Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo Founder of Kingsway International Christian Centre had an interview with UK's  KTF a while back, he explained how and when he gave his life to Christ, he also shared his childhood story, and a lot more...
Pastor Ashimolowo recently celebrated his 40years in the ministry in London.

Not many people know about Matthew Ashimolowo, the person. Where and when were you born, how many siblings do you have, and what was your childhood like?

ASHIMOLOWO: I was born in Kaduna, which is in the northern part of Nigeria. I was born to Muslim parents, and I am the middle child. I have an older brother and a younger sister. As the son of a military officer, my father was constantly transferred on official duties, and this meant our family was always on the move. My father died in the Biafran War, and this led me to be looked after by guardians. It was not an easy childhood, but I believe all of my experiences have shaped my life, and have caused me to challenge all the people I meet or have the opportunity to minister to, to live a life of success, triumphing over adversity. I believe strongly that, through prayer and living a life of purity, and where there is a will to follow and apply the Word of God to your life, you will win against all the odds. I did, and I challenge others to do likewise. I have not looked back since I gave my life to Christ in a drunken state at the age of 22.

What role did religion and faith play in your upbringing, and what inspired you to become a Christian?

ASHIMOLOWO: I gave my life to Christ in a drunken state at the age of 22, so I can’t say I was inspired! I was at home, saw a tract on the floor and read it. The impact of the tract was such that I said the Sinner’s Prayer alone in that room. I thank God for an aunt, who subsequently took me to church, and for my one and only pastor, who noticed and nurtured the grace of God on my life. From the age of 22, I have been sold out to Christ and to the advancement of His Kingdom, and I have enjoyed every minute of it!

When did you get the call to ministry, and how did you go about pursuing that call?

ASHIMOLOWO: Shortly after I gave my life to Christ, I started to attend Christ Apostolic Church. I was introduced to this church by my Aunt. In the early months of being at the church, the Pastor began to nurture the call of God on my life. He began to use me in various ministry capacities, to help develop my ministry. At around the same time of this happening, an evangelist visited the ministry, and advised that I went to Bible School. Since leaving Bible School, I continued to pursue knowledge and development. I believe it has been one of the things that has helped me to personally grow with the ministry God has entrusted to me.

What made you decide to immigrate to England, and what was your view of the spiritual landscape upon arriving here?

ASHIMOLOWO: England was not my choice. I originally wanted to study in Canada. However, that was my plan; God’s was different. In 1984, the Foursquare denomination that I was with, sent me to England as a missionary. Sincerely speaking, I found the land cold and the people cold. Having left a growing congregation of over 2,000 to become a Pastor of 11 adults was initially discouraging. The few young people who eventually joined would often disappear to other ministries once I finished service, and the older ones at first did not seem to be receptive to the Word of God like what I had been used to. After the first year, I told my wife to read all she wanted, because I wanted to leave as soon as she finished! Now, of course, I am glad I broke through the discouragement, the coldness of the climate, and what appeared to be the lack of reception of the people. Once I changed my view, the people started to come to the ministry.

Which churches and Christians provided you with inspiration when you arrived here?

ASHIMOLOWO: Victory Church and the New Testament Church (Mile End).

Looking back on your years serving the church, what are the key lessons you’ve learnt about God, life and leading a high profile ministry?

ASHIMOLOWO: It is important to have a clear vision for people to follow.
It is important to constantly refer to the vision on a regular basis, so people can maintain and run with it.
Training and discipleship – Build and strengthen your leaders and stewards.
Prayer changes everything. Everything KICC owns and has achieved, has been through being on our knees.
Not to be afraid to stand on your own when it is God’s principles you are standing for.
To be bold and courageous in declaring God’s Word, even when it is not socially acceptable.
The media works when used to promote the Kingdom.
Leadership can be isolating and a lonely walk.
Passion and being purpose driven can lead to others misunderstanding your motives and what you stand for.
Pioneers lead the way for others to follow.
God is faithful; whatever He has promised, He always provides.
Lead by example.
Sow your way to victory, and watch God honour your sacrifice.
The power of positive confession.
For the first 18 years, I sacrificed my personal ministry for growing KICC. By the time I started to venture out on personal ministry assignments, KICC was at a level of growth that could stand my absences.

One of the most difficult times in your ministry must have been when the Charity Commission investigated KICC. Looking back, what are your feelings about that period, and how has your church moved forward since then?

ASHIMOLOWO: We have risen to greater heights. The challenges were great, but God saw us through. We had grown so quickly that we had little time to adjust some of our processes. The Charity Commission went through our processes with a fine-toothed comb, and we adopted new governance procedures which reflected our ministry size. We are pleased to say, they required little change to our operational procedures. What has brought solace is the fact they have also began to use some of the processes we had developed as a standard for other churches to follow. We have now moved on from this, and we are now in a new season.

When you’re not preaching or travelling, what kind of things do you like to do?
ASHIMOLOWO: Spending time with my family, and playing golf.
