Natural Remedies To Get Rid Of Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are visible lines on the skin surface, with an off-color hue.

Stretch marks are mainly found in the abdominal wall, but can also occur over the thighs, upper arms, buttocks and breasts.

Sometimes stretch marks can cover large areas of the body. While pregnancy is the main cause behind stretch marks, other reasons can be sudden gain or loss in weight, rapid growth , heredity factors , stress and
changes in physical conditions .

The skin consists of three main layers: Epidermis (the outer layer), Dermis (the middle layer) and Subcutaneous or Hypodermic (the deepest layer). Stretch marks form in the dermis or middle layer of the skin when the connective tissue is “stretched” beyond the power of its flexibility due to rapid expansion or contraction of the skin.

As skin is stretched, the collagen is weakened and its normal production cycle is interrupted and damaged. This ultimately results in fine scars under the top layer of the skin . Initially the marks look pink or red, but over time a thin, silvery line appears on the skin surface and a stretch mark is born.

Stretch marks appear on the skin surface when someone grows quickly, or puts on weight quickly.

Stretch marks can make you feel self-conscious and uncomfortable about your appearance. Fortunately, there are several natural ways to reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

1. Castor Oil
Castor oil, which is used in the treatment of a number of skin problems such as wrinkles, age spots, moles, dark spots, fine lines and pimples, can also be used to get rid of stretch marks.

Apply Castor Oil to Remove Stretch Marks
1. Apply some castor oil to the stretch marks and gently massage the area in circular motions for 5 to 10 minutes.
2. Wrap the area with a thin, cotton cloth. Using a hot water bottle or a heating pad, apply some heat to the affected area for at least a half an hour.
3. Repeat this process daily for a minimum of one month to notice positive results.

2. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is effective in the treatment of many skin problems. Its healing and soothing properties can be used to get rid of stretch marks. There are a couple of ways to apply it.

Aloe Vera Home Remedy to Get Rid of Stretch Marks
You can directly rub aloe vera gel on the affected skin area, leave it on for 15 minutes and then rinse the skin with lukewarm water.

Another option is to make a mixture with one-fourth cup of aloe vera gel, oil from 10 vitamin E capsules and oil from five vitamin A capsules. Rub this mixture onto the skin until fully absorbed. Repeat this process daily.

3. Egg Whites
Eggs are a rich source of protein. For stretch marks, break your egg,  remove the yellow part and use only the egg whites , which contain amino acids and proteins.
1. Whip the whites of two eggs gently with a fork. Clean the affected skin area with water and then apply a thick layer of egg whites with a makeup brush.
2. Allow the egg whites to dry completely and then rinse the area with cold water.
3. Finally apply some olive oil on the skin to keep it moisturized.
4. Repeat the process daily for at least two weeks and watch for for positive results.

4. Lemon Juice

Another simple way to lessen stretch marks is to use lemon juice. Lemon juice is naturally acidic which helps heal and reduce stretch marks, acne, and other scars.

Rub fresh lemon juice gently onto the stretch marks using circular motions. Allow the lemon juice to soak into your skin for at least 10 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.
Another option is to mix equal quantities of cucumber juice and lemon juice and apply the mixture on the stretch marks.

5. Sugar

Natural white sugar is one of the best natural remedies to get rid of stretch marks. You can use the sugar to exfoliate your skin.

1. Mix a tablespoon of raw sugar with some almond oil and a few drops of lemon juice. Mix it well and apply it on the stretch marks and other skin areas.
2. Gently rub the mixture on the skin for a few minutes every day before taking a shower.
3. Do this for a month or so and watch your stretch marks become lighter.

6. Potato Juice

Potato juice contains vitamins and minerals that foster growth and restoration of skin cells.
1. Cut a medium-sized potato into thick slices.
2. Take one of the potato pieces and rub it gently on the stretch marks for a few minutes. Make sure the starch from the potato covers the affected area.
3. Allow the potato juice to dry for some time and then wash it off with lukewarm water.

 7. Cocoa Butter

Cocoa butter is also very beneficial in treating stretch marks. Being an excellent natural moisturizer , it helps nourish your skin and reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

You must apply cocoa butter over the affected area at least two times a day for a few months.

Another option is to make a mixture using half a cup of cocoa butter, one tablespoon of wheat germ oil, two teaspoons of grated beeswax and one teaspoon each of apricot kernel oil and vitamin E oil. Heat this mixture until the beeswax melts. You can store the mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator and apply it to your stretch marks two to three times a day. This mixture will make your skin more hydrated and smooth.

 9. Olive Oil

Olive oil contains a lot of nutrients and antioxidants that help improve various skin problems including stretch marks.

1. Massage slightly warm extra-virgin olive oil into the affected skin area. This will improve the blood circulation and reduce the stretch marks to a great extent.
2. Leave it for half an hour so that the vitamins A, D and E present in the oil are absorbed by the skin.
You can also mix olive oil with vinegar and water and use it as a night cream. This will keep your skin stay moisturized and also exfoliate the skin.

10. Water
Keeping your body well hydrated helps protect the skin from many kinds of problems and also aids in detoxification . It also helps keep the skin supple and restores elasticity.

Try to drink one to two glasses of water several times during a day. Experts say drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water per day is the best way to keep the body hydrated.
It will also make your skin soft and help maintain its elasticity. It is advisable to avoid coffee, tea or soda though.
These natural remedies can help stretch marks fade, but they may not completely remove them. You can always see your doctor if you are greatly concerned about the appearance of stretch marks on your skin

Infotainment Friday: Learn To Love Yourself And Be Selfish

Our Friday talk today will be focused on being selfish, yes selfish,  take care of oneself, get a good alone time and pamper oneself.  most times when the word selfish is being mentioned theres a negative vibe to it,  which is not supposed to be. In this present happenings not being selfish is actually a sin to oneself.

When you depend on friends to give you joy and self-worth then you're heading for a long ride, because not all friends are sincere or give positive advice. some friends might encourage you to go beyond your comfort zone to achieve something that they know is unachievable, and it's something they cannot do at all, something that might have a negative effect on your personality.

Enough of the somethings, lolz
Let’s start out with this: dependency is not a weakness. It’s actually healthy, as long as you can keep it balanced with independence.

We all need to be taken care of, validated, encouraged, and given support. When we can receive these things from others and use them to nurture ourselves, this is healthy dependency. When we draw strength from these experiences, it allows us to easily be independent at other times—relying on and caring for ourselves, and being the one to support others.

This is called interdependence, and it’s a beautiful ebb and flow in relationships of both giving and being able to receive.

Over-dependency is when you find yourself struggling to return to emotional independence when needed.

When we try so hard to constantly please someone else, we start to become unreal.

Whatever your own experience, over-dependence usually happens when we try to rely on someone in a healthy way and get hurt instead of being supported. Our instincts kick in, and we try new strategies, looking for ways to get the love we need and avoid the hurt.

So make the decision to be selfish.

Others aren’t the only ones who can fulfill your need for love. In fact, if you don’t love yourself you might have a hard time accepting or feeling like you deserve love.

Take some time to really accept yourself. When you do this, there’s no need act or be fake just to be loved. Yes, you are flawed; this makes you no less lovable. You deserve time, attention, care, acceptance, appreciation, honesty, and gentleness. Take a weekend to give yourself these things. Love yourself!  I love you!

PSG Announces Penalty Taker To Settle Neymar And Cavani Feud

French Ligue 1 giants, Paris Saint-Germain have decided the ‘fight’ of its two star strikers Edinson Cavani and Neymar over who should take free-kicks and penalties for the club.

This decision came as a result of bells of alarms that were ringing throughout the French capital on Sunday evening as Cavani and Neymar squabbled over who took a penalty against Olympique Lyon.

On Monday, club President, Nasser Al-Khelaifi met with both players in question to discuss the issue.

PSG had hoped the issue could be resolved between the two individuals but the story has since taken on a life of its own on social media.

The Parisians have now decided that the Uruguayan International will remain the club’s penalty taker, according to MARCA.

Paris Saint-Germain Coach Speaks Over Neymar and Cavani bickering

Paris Saint-Germain won the game against Lyon thanks to two goals from Edinson Cavani and another from Motta.

The performance from Unai Emery’s men was convincing, but one moment played out during the match as Neymar was denied a penalty kick.

Cavani won a penalty in 19th minute of the game, and Neymar approached him to take it.

But the Uruguayan reminded him that this was not Barcelona where everyone focused more on team building than individual honors/glory.

As expected, Cavani shunned the Brazilian and proceeded to score the penalty kick.

PSG manager, Unai Emery, says he expects Edinson Cavani and Neymar, to reach an agreement over who takes penalties.

The two players fought over a spot-kick, during their 2-0 win over Lyon in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Cavani and Neymar argued over the penalty in the 79th minute, with the Uruguayan eventually taking it, but he missed from 12 yards.

“The penalties are to be struck by a few players, one is Cavani and the other is Neymar,” Emery said.

“It takes a gentleman’s agreement on the ground to hit the penalties.

“Afterwards, we will arrange internally for the penalties that are coming in, because I think both are able to score them, and I want the two to alternate in this exercise.

“If there is no agreement, I will decide. I do not want it to be a problem for us.”

The Uruguay international taking penalties ahead of the Brazilian superstar was something Emery was questioned about before the match, and it surfaced as an issue during the game. Dani Alves refused to give the ball to Cavani before a free kick, and Neymar pestered Cavani to take a second-half penalty before Les Parisiens' No. 9 had his spot kick saved by Anthony Lopes.

Infotainment Friday: DustMite Allergies

Hello friends, we will be starting a new thing every Friday evening..  starting from today I will be sharing some tips to help us live comfortably in our homes, surroundings, workplace, etc. As the pen directs, Lolz.
Today we will be digging deep into DustMite Allergies, I will share notes on Dust mites...  Pls let's try to be safe in the little way that we can...

What Is a Dust Mite Allergy?

An allergen is a substance that causes an allergic reaction. Both the body parts and the waste of dust mites are allergens for many people. Most dust mites die in low humidity levels or extreme temperatures. But they leave their dead bodies and waste behind. These can continue to cause allergic reactions. In a warm, humid house, dust mites can survive all year.

What Are the Symptoms of Dust Mite Allergy?

Common dust mite allergy symptoms include:

Sneezing
Runny nose
Itchy, red or watery eyes
Stuffy nose
Itchy nose, mouth or throat
Postnasal drip (a flow of mucus from behind your nose into your throat)
Cough
If your dust mite allergy triggers your asthma, you may also experience:

Difficulty breathing
Chest tightness or pain
A whistling or wheezing sound when breathing out
Trouble sleeping caused by shortness of breath, coughing or wheezing

How Can I Prevent Allergic Reactions to Dust Mites?

Remember, having dust mites doesn’t mean your house isn’t clean. In most areas of the world, these creatures live in every home, no matter how clean. But, you can reduce their effects. There are many changes you can make to your home to reduce the numbers of these unwanted “guests.”

Studies show that more dust mites live in your bedroom than anywhere else in your home. So this is the best place to start.

Cover mattresses and pillows in Zippered dust-proof covers These covers are made of a material with pores too small to let dust mites and their waste product through. They are also called allergen-impermeable. Plastic or vinyl covers are the least expensive, but some people find them uncomfortable. You can buy other fabric allergen-impermeable covers from many regular bedding stores.

Wash your sheets and blankets weekly in hot water. You have to wash them in water that’s at least 130 degrees Fahrenheit or more to kill dust mites.
Get rid of all types of fabric that mites love and that you cannot easily wash regularly in hot water. Avoid wall-to-wall carpeting, curtains, blinds, upholstered furniture and down-filled covers and pillows in the bedroom. Put roll-type shades on your windows instead of curtains.

Have someone without a dust mite allergy clean your bedroom. If this is not possible, wear a filtering mask when dusting or vacuuming. Many drug stores carry these items. Dusting and vacuuming stir up dust. So try to do these chores when you can stay out of the bedroom for a while afterward.

Vacuuming is not enough to remove all dust mites and their waste. A large amount of the dust mite population may remain because they live deep inside the stuffing of sofas, chairs, mattresses, pillows and carpeting.
Treat other rooms in your house like your bedroom.

What Is the Treatment for Dust Mite Allergy?

Some tips that might help

The most important step is to avoid dust mites as much as possible. Limiting your exposure to dust mites will reduce your symptoms. However, it’s nearly impossible to completely get rid of dust mites in your environment. You may also need medicines to control symptoms.

Certain over-the-counter and prescription medicines may help reduce dust mite allergy symptoms.

Antihistamines are available as pills, liquids or nose sprays. They can relieve sneezing and itching in the nose and eyes. They also reduce a runny nose and, to a lesser extent, nasal stuffiness.

Nasal corticosteroids are a type of nose spray. They reduce swelling in your nose and block allergic reactions. They are the most effective medicine type for allergic rhinitis because they can reduce all symptoms, including nasal congestion. Nasal corticosteroids have few side effects.

Leukotriene receptor antagonists block the action of important chemical messengers (other than histamine) involved in allergic reactions.

Cromolyn sodium is a nose spray that blocks the release of chemicals that cause allergy symptoms, including histamine and leukotrienes. This medicine has few side effects, but you must take it four times a day.

Decongestants are available as pills, liquids, nose sprays or drops. They help shrink the lining of the nasal passages and relieve stuffiness. Use decongestant nose drops and sprays only for a short time. Oral decongestants can cause side effects such as sleeplessness and increased blood pressure in some people. Consider checking with your doctor before using them.
In conclusion,
Many people with a dust mite allergy do not get complete relief from medicines. This means they may consider immunotherapy (allergy shots). Immunotherapy is a long-term treatment that can help prevent or reduce the severity of allergic reactions. It can reduce the course of allergic disease by changing your body’s immune response to allergens.
