Blake Lively Opens Up on How She and Ryan Chose Their Belford N.Y. Home

Blake, 25, and Ryan, 36, bought the reported $2 million country home
last spring. They began dating in October 2011 -- nearly a year after
Ryan split from wife Scarlett Johansson.

On Sept. 9, 2012, Blake and Ryan wed in an intimate ceremony at Boone
HallPlantation in Mount Pleasant, S.C.


In a new interview with Elle Decor , the former Gossip Girl star
reveals how the duo chose the plush pad.


"The location is great," she shares."And we loved the kitchen. It's
really the family room." She gushed


"Since my kitchen is the most important part of my home, I want to be
creative and innovative, not only inits aesthetic, but also in the
tools that I'm using to cook," she explains.


"I was on a road trip, stuck in traffic, when I looked to my left and
saw the most beautiful ranges I've ever seen in my life," she recalls.
"I left my car there and jumped out to run to the window. Everybody
was honking at me. I took a picture of the window andI thought: 'One
day I'm going to have that!'"



As for implementing her personal style,


"It's mixing different colors, different textures, and unexpected
patterns--elements that you wouldn't often put together in an
interesting way," says the starlet. "That's also why I look for things
that you don't see everywhere,things that are elegant. And I'm always
looking for pieces that make a statement."



"I'm so peaceful..." the blond beauty has said since tying the knot
with her man. "I've never been happier in my life."
